A WORLD CENTER FOR EXPLORATION

Since 1904 our international, professional society has been a meeting point and unifying force for explorers and scientists worldwide. The Explorers Club is dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration, and the ideal that it is vital to preserve the instinct to explore. We foster these goals by providing research grants, educational lectures and publications, expedition planning assistance, exciting adventure travel programs, and a forum where experts in all the diverse fields of science and exploration, can meet to exchange ideas.

Sierra Club

In the Spring of 1892, a determined band of men and women, led by the conservationist John Muir, made a commitment to the Earth. They became charter members of the Sierra Club.

They shared a passion for wild places. They knew that none of them, acting alone, could save these endangered treasures. They hoped that together they could preserve America's vast natural heritage--not just for themselves, but as a legacy to future generations.

Their hope was rewarded. The Sierra Club enabled them to "explore, enjoy, and protect" the Earth and it helped translate their concern into concrete, effective action
